Murano-Style Glass Beads
Italian-style lampwork — swirl discs, puffy rounds and millefiori canes — made in China and labelled as style, never as origin.
'Murano' names a place: the Venetian island whose furnaces defined lampwork and millefiori. Beads sold on this page are not from there. They are Chinese-made lampwork that follows Murano techniques and pattern traditions — millefiori canes, chevron striping, swirled flat discs — and we sell them under the words 'Murano-style' so that no buyer, and no buyer's customer, is misled about origin.
The style lines with listing records include the matte swirl striped flat round bead (15mm, sold under a 'Murano Puffy Disc' listing title) at $0.19–0.20 with a 200-piece minimum, and the millefiori chevron striped drums at $2.50–2.90 by the strand. If your product descriptions say 'Murano glass', they must be describing Italian goods; for these lines, 'Murano-style lampwork, made in China' is the accurate wording, and it is the wording we use on every document we issue.

How buyers spec Murano-style lines
- Label for your market. Use 'Murano-style' or 'in the Murano tradition' in your own listings; reserving 'Murano' for Italian origin protects you with marketplaces and customs alike.
- Spec the technique, not the island. Order by cane or surface technique — millefiori, chevron, swirl — plus size and unit, exactly as you would for any lampwork line.
- Discs are piece-sold, canes are strand-sold. The swirl discs carry a 200-piece minimum; the millefiori drums a 50-strand minimum. Do not merge the two units in one line item.
- Check pattern scale. On 15mm discs the swirl reads as a bold graphic; on 6mm drums the chevron reads as texture. Order a sample strand or pack before committing a design to a size.
Minimums, units and packing
Recorded minimums on the style lines are 200 pieces for the swirl discs and rounds, and 50 strands for the millefiori drum lines. Confirm the current price, minimum and packing per SKU with your inquiry — listing prices are recorded at listing time and batches are re-priced as they change.
Buyer questions
Why not just call them Murano beads?
Because they are not made in Murano, and origin claims follow the goods into your listings, your customs declarations and your customer complaints. The style is genuine lampwork tradition; the geography is China, and our paperwork says so.
Are these the same beads as on the millefiori page?
The millefiori drum lines are shared between the two pages — this page frames them by style and labelling, the millefiori page by technique and sizes.
Is there a guide to telling style from origin?
Yes — our Murano glass beads guide walks through cane work, labelling and what to ask any supplier, including us.
