Lampwork Beads
Hand-worked lampwork glass beads — spotted loose beads, matte swirl rounds and millefiori lampwork strands — with recorded sizes from 4mm to 18mm.
Lampwork beads are wound and decorated by hand at the torch, which is why no two beads in a batch are perfectly identical — and why designers pay more for them than for moulded glass. This catalogue's lampwork range runs from small millefiori lampwork beads sold by the strand to larger spotted loose beads sold by the piece, so the same technique covers both production jewellery and one-off focal pieces.
Four lampwork lines carry full listing records. The millefiori lampwork strand line (mixed colours, 4/6/8/10/12mm) shows 135 sold at $0.80–3.00 per strand with a 50-strand minimum; loose spotted lampwork beads (8–18mm) are listed at $0.12–0.39 with a 200-piece minimum. Those two ends of the range — strand-sold small beads, piece-sold focals — are the practical structure of the whole lampwork section.

How buyers spec lampwork beads
- Expect handmade variation. Torch-worked beads vary slightly in size and pattern placement. If your design needs matched pairs, say so on the order so pairs can be selected at packing.
- Separate focals from strands. Order piece-sold focals (8–18mm spotted beads) and strand-sold small beads as different lines with different units; mixing units in one line item is the most common lampwork ordering error.
- Check hole size against your cord. Lampwork holes are formed on the mandrel and vary by line; state your cord or wire gauge and ask for the hole size of the exact SKU.
- Photograph your retained sample. For repeat orders, send a photo of the batch you are matching — pattern density on millefiori and spotting on loose beads shifts between production runs.
Minimums, units and packing
Recorded lampwork minimums are 50 strands on the millefiori and chevron strand lines and 200 pieces on loose spotted and swirl beads. Prices above are listing prices at the time of record; confirm the current price, minimum and packing for each SKU before ordering, because hand-worked lines are re-priced as batches change.
Buyer questions
What is the difference between lampwork and millefiori here?
Millefiori is one lampwork family: beads built from patterned glass canes, sliced and fused so the flower-like cross-section shows on the surface. The millefiori page covers the cane-based lines in detail; this page covers the wider lampwork range.
Are the 135 sold and other sales figures current stock?
They are recorded sales on the company's marketplace listings — evidence the lines are actively traded, not a live stock count. Confirm availability per SKU with your inquiry.
Can lampwork beads be made to my colour?
The catalogue is a stock range. For colour or pattern variations beyond the listed lines, describe what you need in your inquiry and we will confirm whether the workshop range covers it before you commit.
