How buyers spec gemstone beads
- Name the stone and the treatment. 'Gemstone' alone is not a spec. State the stone you need and ask directly whether it is natural, dyed, heated or stabilised — and get the answer in writing on your order.
- Donuts: give outer diameter and hole. The recorded ladder runs 12mm to 50mm outer diameter. The centre hole decides what cord or bail the pendant takes, so spec both dimensions.
- Expect natural variation. Jasper, jade and crystal donuts vary in pattern and tone from piece to piece; mixed-stone lines vary by design. If you need matched pairs, order them as matched and say so.
