Natural Gemstone Beads

Gemstone lines recorded as natural — donut pendants and red coral chips — and a straight explanation of what to verify behind any 'natural' claim.

'Natural' is the most abused word in the bead trade. It can mean mined and untreated, mined and dyed, mined and resin-stabilised — or it can be pasted onto glass. The gemstone lines in this catalogue that carry the word in their listing titles are the flat donut beads ('Flat Donut Natural Gemstone Peace Buckle') and the coral chips ('Natural Bamboo Red Coral Branch Chip Beads'). We keep those titles as recorded, and we tell you plainly: a title is a claim, and a claim should be verified per order.

So this page does two jobs. It presents the recorded natural lines with their sizes, prices and minimums, and it sets out the three questions that separate natural, treated and synthetic material — the same questions we expect you to put to us on your order confirmation. A supplier who cannot answer them in writing is telling you something about the goods.

Three questions to put on every natural-stone order

  • Is it mined stone at all? Ask for the material name, not the trade name. 'Jade' alone can mean nephrite, jadeite, Xiuyu serpentine or dyed quartzite — the recorded jade lines here are carved Hsiu (Xiuyu) jade and black jade, and we name them that way.
  • What treatment has it had? Dyeing, heating, coating and stabilisation are standard in this tier. Treated stone is not fake stone, but undeclared treatment is a misdescription. Get the treatment stated per SKU.
  • What will the paperwork say? The description on your invoice and packing list is what your customers and customs will hold you to. Confirm the wording matches what you intend to print in your own listings.

Minimums, units and packing

Recorded minimums are 50 pieces on the donut lines and 20 strands on the coral chip line. Prices are listing records; confirm the current figure, the stone and its treatment status for each SKU before you order — natural material is re-priced batch by batch.

Buyer questions

Do you provide certificates for natural stones?

Certificates are available upon request — ask on your inquiry and we will confirm what documentation can be issued for the specific line and quantity you are ordering.

Is dyed stone still 'natural'?

The stone is natural; the colour may not be. That is why the useful question is never just 'is it natural?' but 'what treatment?' — see the three questions above and insist on written answers.

Why do the donut lines anchor this page?

Because they are the lines whose listings actually carry the natural designation, in sizes from 12mm to 50mm at a uniform 50-piece minimum. The donut page details all three.
