Porcelain Beads
The fine white-body lines: hand-painted porcelain from 6mm to 26mm, cobalt blue-and-white, and shard pendants cut from patterned porcelain.
Porcelain is where this catalogue's ceramic section becomes specific. The recorded porcelain lines are hand-painted porcelain beads across an unusually wide 6–26mm run at $0.18–0.20, hand-painted blue-and-white at 18mm at $0.18–0.21, a 14mm longlife-symbol line at $0.18–0.20 with a 1,000-piece minimum, and two pendant lines — blue-and-white porcelain shards and ancient porcelain chips — at $5.70–6.00. Minimums are recorded per line: 500 pieces on the hand-painted and blue-and-white round lines, 1,000 pieces on the longlife-symbol line, and 20–50 pieces on the two pendant lines.
A stock SKU shows how precisely these lines are catalogued: CE-BW0380 is a blue-and-white porcelain bead with a tulip flower motif, flat oval, approximately 15×21×5mm, hole approximately 2mm, sold by the piece. When you inquire, that is the level of detail that gets you the right bead — motif, shape, dimensions, hole, unit. The pages linked below split the range by its two working families: painted colour work and blue-and-white.

How buyers spec porcelain beads
- Motif is part of the spec. Tulip, longlife symbol, shard pattern — on porcelain the painted motif is the product. Name it, or attach a photo of the motif you are matching, in every inquiry.
- Shard pendants are one-off by nature. Shards and chips are cut from larger patterned pieces, so no two are identical and motif placement cannot be repeated. Buy them as focals, not as matched components.
- Mind the 1,000-piece line. The longlife-symbol line carries double the standard porcelain minimum. If your quantity sits between 500 and 1,000, ask which lines can cover it before redesigning.
- Glaze colour is batch colour. Cobalt depth varies slightly between firings. Retain a fired sample from your first order and reference it on repeats, exactly as you would a dye lot in glass.
Minimums, units and packing
Recorded porcelain minimums: 500 pieces on the hand-painted round lines, 1,000 pieces on the longlife-symbol line, 20 pieces on shard pendants and 50 pieces on chip pendants. Confirm current prices and the size run per SKU with your inquiry — these are listing records, and painted stock turns over.
Buyer questions
Are porcelain beads fragile in jewellery?
Porcelain is a hard, fully vitrified body — harder than most glass — but a thin shard pendant can chip if it strikes metal. Design shard pendants to hang free, and pack them separately from findings in transit, as we recommend on the ceramic page.
What does the longlife symbol signify?
The shou character and its roundels are traditional Chinese emblems of longevity, widely used on gift jewellery. The Chinese porcelain page explains the common motifs and their meanings.
Can I get the tulip SKU in other shapes?
The recorded tulip SKU is a flat oval. Other shapes exist across the twelve recorded ceramic forms, but motif-by-shape availability is confirmed per SKU — ask with your list rather than assuming the full matrix exists.
